dear younger me...
Twenty years ago a much different version of myself walked the halls of this building. If I could go back and tell that girl anything, it would be this:
Dear Younger Me,
Don’t stress about the small stuff. Twenty years down the road, you won’t even remember what grade you got on that calculus test.
Tell your parents thank you more often. One day you’ll realize just how much work goes into raising tiny humans to launch them into the world.
Don’t let anyone diminish your dreams. God put them in your heart for a reason.
Never apologize for who you are. Not everyone will like you and that’s perfectly ok.
And for the love, STOP comparing yourself to others. Comparison is not a good look on you honey — but confidence is.
The world is so much bigger than your hometown. Seek adventure. Travel the world. Move to new places.
I know you’re struggling to find yourself, but just you wait. You’ll discover a little more about who God made you to be with every trip around the sun.
Life doesn’t get easier, you just get stronger.
One day you’ll marry your best friend and you will build a beautiful life together.
Thanks for not giving up. I promise every struggle, every challenge, every dead end, every new beginning is totally worth it. You’re going to love how life turns out.
One more thing… One day you’ll have two daughters who will think flare jeans, chunky clogs, bucket hats and oversized plaid shirts are “the new style” and it will totally blow your mind that they want to dress like you did in high school.
